Surge arrester type 2+3 - compact protection for sub-distribution boards and end devices

A well thought-out surge protection concept begins in the main distribution board - but ideally does not end there. With a type 2+3 surge arrester, medium and fine protection can be efficiently combined in a single device. These combined arresters are a smart solution, especially in commercial installations with sensitive technology or limited space in the distribution board.

Our models at Normrahmen.ch combine standard-compliant protection with an easy-to-install design. They reliably protect electrical systems against switching surges and residual energy that could reach sensitive end devices without a type 3 arrester - for example in building automation, control technology or lighting.

Product selection: Powerful type 2+3 surge arresters for professionals

A highlight of our range is the  ETITEC VD-T23-255/12.5/4.0 RC TN-S , which is particularly impressive in sensitive environments thanks to its leakage current-free technology. The  ETITEC VD-T23-255/12.5/3.1 RC TN-S/TT , which has been developed with a high degree of flexibility for different network types, is also in demand.

These type 2+3 surge arresters are ideal for modern distribution boards with compact enclosures. They offer an excellent ratio of protection level, discharge capacity and installation effort – ideal for projects where efficiency and space requirements are crucial.

Alternative protection levels for special requirements

For applications with external lightning protection or increased lightning current risk, we recommend using a type 1+2+3 surge arrester in the main distribution board. If only fine protection is required, a  type 3 surge arrester  can also be installed.

If only medium protection is required, a  type 2 surge arrester  is the right choice. Special type 1+2 and type 2 PV (DC) surge arresters are available for use in photovoltaic systems. In industrial applications with 60mm busbars, our solutions are suitable for the 60mm system. You can find a complete overview in our main category  Surge arresters .

Why type 2+3 surge arresters are an economically smart choice

With a type 2+3 surge arrester, professionals benefit from double protection in just one device – this saves space in the sub-distribution board and reduces installation time. This solution is ideal for new buildings with many sensitive consumers (e.g. LEDs, control systems, IT). The leakage current-free versions in particular prevent residual currents and malfunctions in especially sensitive installations.

Our branded products not only guarantee standard-compliant surge protection, but also maximum reliability in daily use. Order your protection components conveniently online – with fast delivery, technical advice and Swiss quality.
